Our client is a leader in their industry. They are looking for a Mechanical Assistant to join their team. This is a Contract position.
Pay: $18-$24/hr Based on experience and qualifications
Required Shift: Flexibility for day/night and some travel to client locations
Responsibilities:
- Assist machine fitters and toolmakers on tooling
- Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances and specs
- Operation of various machines, equipment and tools
- Design, build or modify new and existing tooling
- Assist with drilling, painting, sawing, and other duties
- Measure equipment and parts
- Conduct work safely
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Secondary school or equivalent
- Previous machine shop/tooling experience is a plus
- Some understanding of tooling, blueprint and mathematical abilities
- Understanding of automated assembly equipment and hemming machines
