Warehouse Responsibilities:
- Packing and sorting.
- Product breakdown and documentation.
- Building skids. Invoicing responsibilities, as instructed.
- Prepare bays and hydraulic dock for incoming and outgoing product.
- Secure and accurate loading/unloading of shipments by way of hand bombing to and from various sized vehicles such as cars, vans, and pickup trucks while keeping within the vehicle’s gross vehicle weight rating (GVW).
- Weigh product received in the warehouse.
- Assist in the sorting and stacking of food products, following proper practices for perishable food (includes FIFO-First in First Out).
- Cleaning and maintenance of warehouse, equipment, and outside property to include, but not limited to: sweeping, painting, garbage removal and snow removal of immediate dock area and walkways. Hand salting as required during winter months.
Driver Responsibilities:
- To maintain a clean driver’s abstract and to adhere to all road and transportation safety regulations.
- Perform daily vehicle circle checks and submit inspection reports to the Warehouse Manager or designate, noting any items of concern.
- Record and maintain required documentation including driver logbooks.
- Ensure safe loading and off-loading of trucks/vehicles.
- Ensure safe handling and transportation of fresh and frozen foods by utilizing the truck’s correct reefer temperature.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, if applicable, and weights and dimensions.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Cleaning and maintenance of the vehicles.
- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
This position is also responsible for the operation of the organization’s vehicles including but not limited to the following:
- (1) 2020 Hino (G licence) and (2) GMC Savana 2500 Van (G licence).
Job Requirements:
- Current and clean abstract from the Ministry of Transportation (must maintain a clean driving record)
- Forklift licence
- current preferred
- training provided, if needed
- Criminal Record Check
- First Aid Safety Certification (training will be provided)
Requirements
- G driver's license.
- Must possess excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Working experience in Shipping and Receiving role preferred.
- Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail preferred.
Pay rate can be negotiated.
