Our team is currently looking to hire a gate keeper for a quality freight transportation company in Etobicoke Ontario.
Shift: 10am to 8pm with opportunity to make overtime as required!
Pay: 17/hr
Duties include:
- Recording all trucks and containers coming in and out of the terminal
- Entering all in gates and out gates in TruckMate computer system
- Physically checking all containers for damages and overall condition
- Reporting any damages to containers
- Checking seal numbers to ensure they match the information recorded in the system
- Reporting any discrepancies with seal numbers
- Checking temperatures of refrigerated containers upon arrival
- Checking temperatures of refrigerated containers in yard against a report and the set temperatures recorded on the report
- Reporting any temperatures that are off by more than 5 degrees
- Checking for proper placarding on hazardous containers
Additional facts:
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Must be on time and show up for scheduled shift
Qualifications:
- Computer skills
- 1 year of verifiable experience as a gate experience within a trucking company
- Standing for long periods of time
- Must drive a vehicle to get to the work destination
