Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for receiving installation products, picking and preparing orders for delivery and ensuring deliveries to clients are completed. This includes verifying products and reporting any damages or errors to ensure project installation success. The Warehouse Lead also supervises the Warehouse Workers and serves as a backup for the Warehouse Manager when needed.
 
Main Duties
  • Responsible for ensuring Warehouse Workers properly receive product shipments into the warehouse by verifying purchase orders and products received. Once confirmed, products must be appropriately tagged and placed in the warehouse in preparation for deliveries. This includes supervising the Warehouse Workers and communicating with transportation company drivers/workers to ensure products are properly unloaded.
  • Responsible for ensuring Warehouse Workers properly prepare shipments for next-day delivery by verifying purchase orders, picking appropriate products, and overseeing their placement accordingly in the warehouse for delivery. This includes supervising the Warehouse Workers and communicating with the transportation company drivers/workers to ensure products are properly loaded.
  • Ensure installers have all necessary equipment (dollies, carts, and cleaning products) to deliver products to clients.
  • Responsible for accurately reporting all product defects and/or deficiencies to the Warehouse Manager, as soon as possible. This includes preparing the necessary reporting paperwork by taking photos of damages goods and printing required documents.
  • Serve as backup to Warehouse Manager, when needed. This includes performing administrative tasks such as printing out paperwork for Installers, as needed, scanning packing slips and work orders, and sending documents to the appropriate parties.
  • Ensure clients accurately receive shipments of their products by verifying and documenting delivery status.
  • Ensure and maintain warehouse safety and security regulations by ensuring products are safely placed and secured and that machinery is properly used and locked as required. This includes adhering to proper forklift safety and security procedures and overseeing the safety and security of the Warehouse Workers. This also includes following the warehouse recycling program to ensure proper processing of recyclable materials.

  • The Warehouse Lead has a moderate level of accountability for making decisions regarding receiving, shipping, placing products in the warehouse, and overseeing Warehouse Workers. 
  • The impact of their decisions affects the warehouse efficiency, the installation project delivery, therefore the client’s satisfaction, and the company finances. 
  • The Warehouse Manager reviews their work and approves corrections or flags errors, as needed.
