Job description
We are seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator with a minimum 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and must be comfortable reading blueprints and schematics. This is a long term opportunity located in Oakville. The pay rate is $24-$28 per hour, depending on expereince.
Responsibilities
• Must be able to effectively read and interpret blueprints / schematics to perform accurate set-ups
• Able to interpret precise measuring instruments.
• Able to set-up machines based on job requirements, using fixtures, backstop adjustments, ram
adjustments etc.
• Must be able to make adjustments to programs and tooling to produce quality product
• Able to load/unload tooling and set-up equipment
• Ability to train and mentor new and existing staff in the brake press department
• Problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Expereince with Cincinnati and Pacific brake presses an asset
Education & Qualifications
• High School Diploma – good Math and Mechanical Drawing skills.
• Experience with forklift, jib/overhead cranes is an asset
• must physically be able to lift and carry 5-23 kgs.
• Must work safely and keep their work area clean
• Written and oral communication in English.
Position will start on afternoon shifts for training. Then, switch to day shifts starting at 6:00am.
