Our client in Mississauga is a Foundation repair leader in the Construction Industry, is looking for a Waterproofing Construction Worker
Pay rate: $20 per hour - Must have own car - Client will pay per kilometer driven for company use
To be successful in this role, you will have 2+ years of experience working as a waterproofer with experience in specialised waterproofing applications.
Responsibilities:
- Installing and applying various Waterproofing materials, membranes, coatings, and sealants to different surfaces and structures
- Preparing surfaces for waterproofing is crucial. This involves cleaning, repairing, and priming surfaces to ensure proper adhesion
- Utilize various application methods like spraying, rolling, troweling, and using caulking guns, depending on the specific materials and project requirements.
- Regularly inspecting work areas for defects, making necessary repairs, and performing maintenance on existing waterproofing systems
- Adhering to safety regulations and using essential personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with waterproofing materials and on construction sites.
- Working on elevated platforms, roofs, and in various weather conditions requires physical fitness and the ability to work in diverse environments. (This will include ladders and scaffolds)
- Digging 6' trenches around residential properties
- Daily work depending on Weather Conditions
- Finish Time for End of Day depends on workload - could be 4:00 pm or up to 6:00 pm
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in waterproofing both new installations and repairs.
- A good understanding of different waterproofing materials, their properties, and how to apply them correctly
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications to understand project requirements and ensure proper installation.
- Physical Fitness and Stamina are required, as the position involves manual labor, working at height, and working in various weather conditions.
- Communication and Teamwork Skills:
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team with other construction professionals
- Valid Driver's License for traveling to job sites and driving a company Car.
Previous experience working with these products will be considered an added advantage.
