Shift Time: 3:30pm - 12:00 midnight
Safety footwear and work gloves are required
$21.50 per hour
Counterbalance Forklift Operator
Day by day to start - possible long term position
Be sure to carry your forklift license with you.
Please note: The work shift is Sunday through Friday - 40 hours a week - You will work 5 shifts and have one shift off during the week to work 5 shifts. Please check with Kevin on your weekly schedule to ensure you know when you are to report in.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Operates forklift to source and load/unload products onto vehicles in an efficient and safety conscious manner.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Operates forklift to move product around as needed (12 to 24 feet of wood) , load and unload vehicles, transport material and prepare loads for delivery.
- Performs routine and regular preventative maintenance of vehicle advising supervisor of required repairs. Complete forklift inspection sheet daily.
- Prepares orders for delivery including identifying, locating and securing material as per shipping memo and completing paperwork.
- Builds and arranges customer orders and loads onto vehicle, helping minimize potential for damage in transport, secures load to vehicle.
- Receives returned material, completes sold sticker for re-delivery or returns material to stock as directed.
- Consistently completes stock warning slips in a timely fashion.
- Acts as a Driver’s Helper as required, assisting driver with manually unloading and transporting material.
- Assists with general yard and warehouse maintenance, removing debris and straightening lifts, other general labour duties as needed
- Lifting up to 50lbs
Requirements:
- Valid counterbalance forklift certificate and 2 years of verifiable counterbalance experience
- Position requires an individual who is self-motivated and possesses strong organizational skills.
- Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
- Raymond Reach experience is an asset
- Must be flexible to work on weekends
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Incumbent is required to work indoor as well as outdoor - please dress for the weather conditions
- 50% GL and 50% FL for the forklift Counterbalance role

- Lifting abilities up to 50lbs
