Industrial Electrician
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, assembling, wiring, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems used in the manufacturing, installation, and servicing of equipment. This includes production machinery, custom-built finishing systems, electrical control panels, and mechanical drive systems. The position supports both in-house manufacturing and field installation while ensuring compliance with electrical codes and company safety standards.



 Key Responsibilities
• Install, wire, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and production equipment. 
• Assemble and wire new machines during the manufacturing process. 
• Install electrical components including motors, sensors, limit switches, proximity sensors, relays, contactors, overloads, control transformers, and control panels.
• Install, align, wire, and commission drive systems including electric motors, gearboxes, reducers, belt drives, chain drives, couplings, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and associated controls.
• Perform electrical installation and commissioning of new equipment at customer facilities. 
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and mechanical drawings.
• Build, modify, and test electrical control panels. 
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with programming changes when required. • Diagnose electrical and control system failures using appropriate testing equipment. 
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and customer machinery. • Assist with machine upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects. 
• Coordinate electrical work with mechanical assembly personnel during machine manufacturing. 
• Support equipment testing and factory acceptance testing prior to shipment. 
• Travel to customer sites for machine installation, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service calls as required. 
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and installation documentation. 
• Ensure all electrical work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (ESA), applicable CSA standards, and company policies. 
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other plant safety procedures. 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Electrical Engineering Technician diploma, Industrial Electrician apprenticeship, or equivalent education. 
• Minimum 1–2 years of industrial electrical experience in manufacturing or machine building. 
• Experience with industrial control panels, PLCs, VFDs, industrial motors, and machine wiring. 
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. 
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg). 
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required. 
• Comfortable working in manufacturing plants and customer facilities. 
• Ability to travel for equipment installation and service work when required.
